The team assembled at Kings Cross, ready for their round trip to Newark. There was an wary morning meet and greet so all the animals, large and small could get acquainted and have a good sniff!

The train had a first class carriage reserved for the animals, making sure all the pets and their handlers were comfortable on their journey. PetLondon’s Animal handler Adam made sure the dogs were settled in and let them get used to their new and exciting surroundings before the shoot began.

The photoshoot included lots of fun tasks, including the dogs playing board games, reading the paper and enjoying the view from the train window. Other shots included four dogs sitting in a pod of four and enjoying the journey together. The dogs were even served some special food and beverages and had their tickets checked by a Virgin Trains Inspector.

Darcey watching the world go by

The dogs seemed very relaxed on their journey, particularly Quincy who looked right at home having a well deserved lie down on one of the tables and Darcey who especially ended the view from the window and watching the world go by.

There was also a non-canine on this shoot! Cleo the snake also did a great job showing that Virgin Train’s pet friendly policy is not just for dogs. Cleo is a Royal Python who is four foot long. She is very calm and enjoyed all the limelight.

Hudson and Bertie for River Island

logo

River Island have recently started an exciting new venture into dog clothing and accessories and contacted PetLondon Models for two dogs to promote the new range . They required two friendly, photogenic pooches who matched the specific sizes of the products. Lots of our fabulous dogs were suggested, and after much deliberation, the two lucky pups selected were Bertie the Pug and Hudson the Shih Poo.

Bertie the pug is no stranger to the camera, having previously taken part in a shoot for Mattel. He loves to work with other dogs and is very well socialised, and has an impressive skill set for such a young pooch. Shih Poo Hudson is as equally as friendly and talented, and when he is picked up he will wrap his paws around you and cuddle back! Both dogs are very happy modelling clothes, which comes across in the photos as both pups look very comfortable in the range of stunning garments.

Great job Bertie and Hudson, you both performed outstandingly!

Dobby for Racecourse

The Beverley Racecourse contacted PetLondon Models seeking a very special hound to attend their annual Ladies Day event. They knew exactly which breed they were looking for! A Dachshund who would be wearing a specially fitted ‘Dasch Cam’ during the event. We got to work and sent them details of all our Dachshund models who fit this brief. The job was to take place in East Yorkshire near Hull.

After some contemplation the lucky chosen dog was to be DOBBY. This rather famous little chap is a great personality and loves going on adventures.  Still under one years old, Dobby has a great list of special skills and tricks and already has several model jobs with PetLondon under his belt.

1.jpg       dd.jpg

There was a lot of press interested in Dobby’s attendance at the event and several articles were published surrounding the story. The public were very excited for the chance to meet Dobby at the races. Normally when Dobby leaves the house he is always being stopped by people wanting to say hello to him and he is somewhat of a celebrity in his local town.

3Dobby was looking very handsome on the day of his event and set off from the Midlands with his owner wearing a very dapper bow tie that would be sure to impress the ladies.

Upon arrival he parked up and came onto the grounds where he was introduced to his co-star Rosie and had his special camera pack fitted.

1

Dobby loved exploring the Westwood course and meeting lots of new people. Dobby’s assignment was to capture all the glamour of the races on his ‘Dasch Cam’. Thousands of attendees had dressed up in their finest attire, hoping to get spotted for the best dressed competition. Dobby made his rounds all the way around the racecourse, sniffing out all the best looks (and shoes!) to be found. All this was captured to create a fantastic social media video that we are delighted to share with you below.

Cooper for FEARLESS

ww.jpg

A fun job request came in from the University of Northampton. They knew exactly what they were looking for! A Blue/Grey French Bulldog with a white patch on his/her chest to open and close their fashion show and to be the star visitor for the event.

We were provided with a copy of their invitation that featured a French Bulldog that they were trying to match as closely as possible. We had a couple of options for them to choose from that fitted this precise brief. After exchanging several model profile details and checking availability with some of our dogs and handlers the chosen Frenchie was the very lovely Cooper !

This was a great choice. Cooper is extremely friendly with everyone, very well socialized and used to lots of people around him. He accepts cats, very friendly with all dogs and loves children. He is very relaxed in busy environments. He can sit, shake, stay and give paw and learn special requests .

Unlike some of our jobs, this client was very well organised and left of plenty of planning time, so Cooper had quite a while to get ready for his trip and look forward to the event.

On the day of the show, Cooper and his handler travelled up on the train from London. They arrived to find that Cooper was presented with a specially prepared and branded dog coat so that he would match the theme of the evening. The colour really suited him.

3.jpg

Cooper loved his raincoat!

Cooper had a specific schedule and plenty of time to relax, rest and enjoy meeting everyone. Everyone was very excited to meet with him before the show started and lots of people wanted to take pictures with him of course.

1

Cooper is a very well behaved and boy and was able to roam freely around the venue taking in the sights and showing off his new coat.

2.jpg

Cooper was the star of the event and everyone absolutely loved him. When it was time for the show to start Cooper took pride of place at the front of the show.

4.jpg

The client was very happy with the the models performance and even dropped us a message saying  “Just a note to say that Cooper the French Bulldog was a complete success, he did everything and more that we needed him to do. Cooper welcomed our VIP Guests on the steps of the University, then moved to the Art Gallery, then he queued up for an ice cream and then walked to the front of the Marquee and laid down in exactly the spot we wanted him to – PERFECT!”

Well done to Cooper for a very successful assignment and on being able to being smiles to so many faces 🙂

Stella for CIF

Cif_logo.png

Cif are cleaning the roof of the O2! The O2 arena’s roof will take 72 days to complete. The iconic multi-purpose indoor venue in Greenwich, London, is currently midway through a dramatic make-over as part of Cif’s ‘Before & After Project’, which will see the 50 metre building receive a spruce up using the floor cleaning product.

The lengthy project, which aims to turn the building’s roof back to its bright white colour, is being documented on the the brand’s official Facebook page and website. To help promote the project CIF called on PetLondon Models to provide a cat to star in their viral video.

CIF

The chosen kitty was Perla the Persian, a stunning female cat who is almost pure white but with some striking markings. She attended for filming in a location flat specially selected because of its view of the O2 from its living room window.

p3

Perla was given some time to explore the new environment and settle in and she particularly enjoyed chilling on the windowsill. For one of the scenes the female actor was to hold Perla whilst speaking to the camera. Perla was happy to oblige in a cuddle and show off her gorgeous coat to the camera.

PERLA CIF

Perla is a true professional and as usual gave an outstanding performance for the client. You can watch some of the final footage below and this is being aired across CIF’s social media channels and as viral videos.

Arthur for DogBuddy

A fun and very hands-on  job that came into PetLondon HQ was one requiring a medium sized dog with lots of personality and the ability to do various actions including some active jumping on set. The assignment was for DogBuddy. They are a company that will find Dog sitters, Dog walkers and Dog boarding services near you. Dog Buddy aim to provide a comfortable and caring home from home.

photo.jpg

DogBuddy were planning a big campaign shoot for a some promotional images to appear on the London Underground. Their campaign message was all about promoting the fact that you would not spend your holiday in cage so why should your dog?

Once a full brief had come in with all the actions required and that the dog should have a very expressive face, we set to working matching up the perfect PetLondon Model for this unique shoot. Lots of of options went back and forth but it was Arthur who was chosen in the end as the perfect model. Arthur is a three and half year old Labradoodle. He is a happy-go-lucky dog who absolutely love attention and meeting new people.

arthur4.jpg

Arthur arrived at the studio very excited and ready to get his perfect shots. He had a quick prep and got to know everyone on set including the crew and make-up-artist. We do not really use make-up on the animals but this made for a fun picture and Arthur enjoyed being pampered!

arthur3.jpg

Arthur really enjoyed all the attention being on him and could not wait to get started in front of the camera. He knew he was the real star of the day.

giphy.gif

Arthur has done several theatre rolls and is very well trained in Agility, he often competes in outdoor shows. He was more than willing to show off how fun it was to jump over his hurdle. In post-production the hurdle could be edited out to show Arthur’s action leaps.

111There were some real humans at the shoot too and they were the ones who had to sit in a “cage” whilst Arthur was free to roam about and have fun. Here is one of the final shots. The playful message showed some role reversal to promote a cage-free holiday for your dog.

giphy-1.gif

Arthur took everything in his stride and had an excellent time! He loved all the attention on set and had a fabulous adventure.

Look out for his friendly face on the London Underground, he is sure to make you smile.

The lucky chosen dogs were; Gizmo the Pug, Luna the Dalmation, Woody the Irish Terrier and Freddie the Parson Russell Terrier. They all headed of to a photographic studio in North Acton.

Upon arrival everyone got to meet the crew and it was clear that it was very fun summery “off on holidays” themed shoot. Our dogs were posing with their suitcases packed and their best summer gear to really get into the spirit!

Freddie, is a eight year old Parson Russell Terrier. He is very good at posing for photos and has good obedience skills and agility. An active and fun loving boy he is food and toy motivated and  fantastic with children and other dogs. With his very symmetrical facial markings he is a perfect model to photograph.

Last but not least, Wolfie is a four year old Irish Terrier. He is very calm and excellent at fetching and recall. One of his favourite things to do is to play with a ball and roll around in the garden with children.

All the dogs and handlers involved on this shoot really enjoyed themselves. It was a fun day at the studio. They all performed excellently and were given a glowing review from the client. Well done everyone, we think the snaps are fabulous too!

Harvey Nichols Menswear Launch

A dozen PetLondon Model dogs descended upon Knightsbridge to promote the launch of department store Harvey Nichols new menswear department that is selling clothes by 270 designers in Central London.

Harvey Nichols, founded in 1831, is a British department store chain with a flagship store in Knightsbridge, London. It sells fashion collections for men and women, fashion accessories, beauty products, wine and food.

To celebrate the grand opening of the newly refurbished and relaunched menswear department some talented dogs were called in from us. A total of three different breeds all in groups of four; Bulldogs, Greyhounds and Afghan Hounds. At PetLondon HQ there was a lot of preparatory work needed. We set to task putting together some quads who would be happy working together and also had to take a series of measurements that would be used to create some custom-made outfits for each dog.

2

Since some of these breeds were especially tricky shapes, this called for some of the owners to get creative with their sketch pads and we were especially impressed with some of the submissions.

The event called for a very early start and some of our models set off very early in order to make it in time for the 7am meet and greet. This was a chance for all the dogs to get familiar with each other and for the male model appointed to each group to get acquainted with his animals. All the dogs were in high spirits and excited by all the fuss and extra attention they were recieving.

iii.jpg

First on the schedule was a photoshoot with a photographer outside the stores main entrance and also on the square to the side of the store. The dogs posed in their groups of four of a breed with the male models.

4.jpg

Each dog’s outfit co-ordinated with what the human model was wearing. The Bulldogs that included sisters Coco and Olive, along with Louie and Queenie were wearing raspberry pink polo shirts and navy gilets.

The Greyhounds’ outfit was our personal favourite, they were wearing tailored suits complete with shirt collars and ties. All of the dogs in this group were especially charming and friendly. They looked so professional and dapper and the colour scheme suited them perfectly.

1HN

From Left to Right; Iraida, Lucca, Trieze & Louis

Finally, the Afghan Hounds in their bright orange cashmere. These girls and boys were from different owners but all related in that they all shared the same father. It was a great chance for a family reunion and there was much excitement all round. These dogs are show-stoppers, with their elegant flowing locks that were blowing in the wind, they were impossible to miss.

1

A variety of fabulous shots were taken of all the dogs, both static and on the move. Many of these made it onto social media and into the evening press with a great response from the public.

CfbI8aIXEAAoj0w.jpg-large

After the still shots next was a promotional walk around the perimeter of the store to hand out Harvey Nichols goody bags to the surprised but exceed passers-by.

PetLondon Models also took some behind the scenes footage. Here you can see the Greyhound group doing one of their walks outside the Knightsbridge store. A lot of passers-by did a few double-takes. Its not every day you see such a sight, even in London!

PetShop Boys for Attitude Magazine

We are used to last minute bookings coming in but this one was super short notice! The booking was only confirmed at 5.45pm on a Friday evening for the following Monday. As the office is closed on weekends, we had to put on our speedy skates and get working immediately on this one. The brief that came in was for a total of eight dogs needed for a photoshoot with The PetShop Boys for a cover and feature shoot for Attitude Magazine. The dogs had to all be small breeds and no two could be the same breed. They also all had to be “cute”, but what dog isn’t?

We pulled together a great line up of available dogs, these included; Nemo and his sister Minnie the Poodle, Lilliput the Maltese, Matilda the Yorkshire Terrier, Kipper the Pug, Lottie the Cavachon, Maisie the Westie and Abby the Shih Tzu.

Everyone was very efficient at confirming their availability right away and excited about the fun shoot ahead after the weekend. They had just a few days to get ready, most of them taking a bath and getting brushed up to look glamourous.

Monday lunchtime we all headed off to Big Sky studios in Kings Cross. The whole group was scheduled to come a little early for a pre-shoot meet and greet with our animal handler Adam. It was very exciting for the animals to meet all their new friends and dogs and handlers all had a fun time mingling. There were a whole range of dog treats to be shared out and testing your friends treat was a highlight for some! Kipper the pug was especially in his element as he was mostly surrounded by female co-models and could not believe his luck at hanging out with all these lovely ladies.

During this time the studio area was being prepared and set up. The dogs had some off the lead time to run around together and get relaxed in their new environment. This chill time is important for groups of animals to feel calm and comfortable together.

IMG_2267

The Studio is prepared and some test shots taken

Then it was down to all the hard work. Each of the dogs was introduced to their co-stars, the Pet Shop Boys.  Pet Shop Boys are an English electronic pop duo, formed in London in 1981 and consisting of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. Pet Shop Boys have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, and are listed as the most successful duo in UK music history by The Guniess Book of Records. All that fame did not phase any of the canines and they each probably considered themselves the stars of the shoot.

First up, whilst energy was running high we decided to try for a possible cover shot. The set up was to be Neil and Chris sitting on a bright red sofa and literally surrounded by the dogs. It was a tight shot angle needed for the portrait shaped image so everyone had to squash in. A few of the little ones sat on laps and a couple of the dogs were positioned peeking over the back of the sofa. There were handlers on hand hiding behind the sofa to catch anyone who might have slid off!

Kipper.jpg

For a few of the shots, some of the dogs had to wear some props such as hats or sunglasses.

Here Kipper tries on a hat, as you can see he was quite taken with it and everyone wanted to get a picture of him in it. Just to his right you can see Poppy keeping a watchful eye on things.

The next series of shots were having all the dogs on their leads and them all to be held at once by Neil or Chris. The dogs were arranged by Adam into two groups of four, depending on who was getting along best and then four leads were to be held in each hand.

snap.jpg

Adam, the PetLondon animal handler practises for the shot with all 8 dogs being called towards the camera on cue.

The photographer for this shoot was Joseph Sinclair Being a dog owner himself he was great to work with and created a calm and friendly atmosphere for the animals.

It was a very short turnaround time since the magazine was due to be published in just two weeks after the photoshoot. Often in this industry there are much longer lead times and we have to wait months and months before the shots are released.

The credits for all the images below go to Joseph Sinclair and Attitude Magazine. We think they are fabulous and everyone involved did a fantastic job.

COVER

The Whole Gang on the Sofa with Neil and Chis. For this job a sneaky 9th dog, Poppy (she is the PetLondon logo dog ) snuck into the action, see if you can spot her! She had come along to supervise but for this shot the more the merrier and she was invited to join in.

Bunnies on Set for Look Magazine

As Easter approaches each year we tend to see a surge in demand for Bunnies! As these campaigns have to be planned out quite far in advance this can start as early as January for companies planning to release campaigns in the Spring. This year has been no different to usually and Rabbits have been in hot demand these past few months. One of these assignments was for a request from Look Magazine, a British publication. Look is a glossy high street fashion and celebrity weekly magazine for young women.  The magazine focuses on fashion, high street shopping advice, celebrity style and news, and real-life stories. The magazine was planning a spring themed photoshoot and were looking for a couple of bunnies to pose alongside some props such as perfume bottles.

After sending them lots of options to choose from, a decision was made to use Kira and Bucks Fizz who were both siblings and would get along great on set.

Both bunnies travelled over to the studio in North London where they were greeted by lots of fans! There were plenty of special cuddles for them from the team.

The bunnies were given some time to get acquainted with their co-stars, a selection of different perfume bottles! The positioning and lighting were all co-ordinated for the optimal images. Neither bunny was phased by all the attention and they were used to the camera flash.

As you can see from the above the end-results were absolutely stunning. There were plenty of fantastic images to choose from. Kira the grey bunny was especially a little star as he was quite willing to put his paw up on a prop or to wrap his paw around it as if he was holding the object.

After a really fun day the bunnies headed home to get some well deserved rest and to rejoin the rest of their family. It was then to be a couple of weeks wait before the article and accompanying images were to be published.

Look MagThe February issue of Look Magazine did not disappoint. Both rabbits looked fantastic in their triple-page spread.
