Arthur for DogBuddy

A fun and very hands-on  job that came into PetLondon HQ was one requiring a medium sized dog with lots of personality and the ability to do various actions including some active jumping on set. The assignment was for DogBuddy. They are a company that will find Dog sitters, Dog walkers and Dog boarding services near you. Dog Buddy aim to provide a comfortable and caring home from home.

DogBuddy were planning a big campaign shoot for a some promotional images to appear on the London Underground. Their campaign message was all about promoting the fact that you would not spend your holiday in cage so why should your dog?

Once a full brief had come in with all the actions required and that the dog should have a very expressive face, we set to working matching up the perfect PetLondon Model for this unique shoot. Lots of of options went back and forth but it was Arthur who was chosen in the end as the perfect model. Arthur is a three and half year old Labradoodle. He is a happy-go-lucky dog who absolutely love attention and meeting new people.

Arthur arrived at the studio very excited and ready to get his perfect shots. He had a quick prep and got to know everyone on set including the crew and make-up-artist. We do not really use make-up on the animals but this made for a fun picture and Arthur enjoyed being pampered!

arthur3.jpg

Arthur really enjoyed all the attention being on him and could not wait to get started in front of the camera. He knew he was the real star of the day.

giphy.gif

Arthur has done several theatre rolls and is very well trained in Agility, he often competes in outdoor shows. He was more than willing to show off how fun it was to jump over his hurdle. In post-production the hurdle could be edited out to show Arthur’s action leaps.

111There were some real humans at the shoot too and they were the ones who had to sit in a “cage” whilst Arthur was free to roam about and have fun. Here is one of the final shots. The playful message showed some role reversal to promote a cage-free holiday for your dog.

Arthur took everything in his stride and had an excellent time! He loved all the attention on set and had a fabulous adventure.

Look out for his friendly face on the London Underground, he is sure to make you smile.

The lucky chosen dogs were; Gizmo the Pug, Luna the Dalmation, Woody the Irish Terrier and Freddie the Parson Russell Terrier. They all headed of to a photographic studio in North Acton.

Upon arrival everyone got to meet the crew and it was clear that it was very fun summery “off on holidays” themed shoot. Our dogs were posing with their suitcases packed and their best summer gear to really get into the spirit!

Corgi Trio to Celebrate the Queen’s 90th

To celebrate the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen, Vauxhall developed a special Astra this year to pay homage to the Her Royal Highness. It features some amazing added extras, including a retractable red carpet, specially designed corgi booster seat and unique decals.

In order show off the fantastic car to its full potential Vauxhall called on PetLondon Models to supply a group of Corgis for their photoshoot. We had the perfect brothers on the books for such a booking. Sebastian and Xavier are seasoned models who have attended many previous shoots and their new brother Edward had just joined the family recently. This happy trio were the perfect match to star in the royal Astra photoshoot

It was to be a very early start for the boys! They had to be ready at Buckingham Palace in the wee hours of the morning at 5am in order to avoid the hectic London traffic and tourists.

They arrived to find the very special Vauxhall car waiting for them. This unique vehicle had been fitted out to make sure Queen Elizabeth II and her Corgis would have everything they could ever need to be looked after in the royal manner.

It was a great shoot and the boys really enjoyed having the spotlight on them!

Full spec for the Royal Astra includes; ‘Corgis On Board’ sign displayed on rear windscreen, Corgi booster seat, Union Jack cushions, Retractable red carpet and ‘Liz & Phil’ front windscreen sun visor strip and the doggy Windscreen wiping waving hand.

The boys took part in various shots including sitting inside and outside of the fantastic vehicle. They loved all its features that were so perfect for their breed! They posed for some group shots and also had some solo appearances.

Her Majesty has been a Vauxhall owner for more than 50 years, with all her cars finished in Balmoral Green – a bespoke deep green colour not normally supplied by Vauxhall. ‘MYT 1’, Her Majesty the Queen’s 1961 PA Cresta Friary Estate was a personal favourite, serving the royal fleet and containing a number of interesting features like fishing rod holders built into the roof and a gun rack.

The Vauxhall Astra is an iconic Brit-built car which has been a fixture on our roads for over 35 years. With one in four Brits having owned or driven an Astra during their lives, the Astra can be considered a legendary part of the British car industry.

PetShop Boys for Attitude Magazine

We are used to last minute bookings coming in but this one was super short notice! The booking was only confirmed at 5.45pm on a Friday evening for the following Monday. As the office is closed on weekends, we had to put on our speedy skates and get working immediately on this one. The brief that came in was for a total of eight dogs needed for a photoshoot with The PetShop Boys for a cover and feature shoot for Attitude Magazine. The dogs had to all be small breeds and no two could be the same breed. They also all had to be “cute”, but what dog isn’t?

We pulled together a great line up of available dogs, these included; Nemo and his sister Minnie the Poodle, Lilliput the Maltese, Matilda the Yorkshire Terrier, Kipper the Pug, Lottie the Cavachon, Maisie the Westie and Abby the Shih Tzu.

Everyone was very efficient at confirming their availability right away and excited about the fun shoot ahead after the weekend. They had just a few days to get ready, most of them taking a bath and getting brushed up to look glamourous.

Monday lunchtime we all headed off to Big Sky studios in Kings Cross. The whole group was scheduled to come a little early for a pre-shoot meet and greet with our animal handler Adam. It was very exciting for the animals to meet all their new friends and dogs and handlers all had a fun time mingling. There were a whole range of dog treats to be shared out and testing your friends treat was a highlight for some! Kipper the pug was especially in his element as he was mostly surrounded by female co-models and could not believe his luck at hanging out with all these lovely ladies.

During this time the studio area was being prepared and set up. The dogs had some off the lead time to run around together and get relaxed in their new environment. This chill time is important for groups of animals to feel calm and comfortable together.

The Studio is prepared and some test shots taken

Then it was down to all the hard work. Each of the dogs was introduced to their co-stars, the Pet Shop Boys.  Pet Shop Boys are an English electronic pop duo, formed in London in 1981 and consisting of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. Pet Shop Boys have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, and are listed as the most successful duo in UK music history by The Guniess Book of Records. All that fame did not phase any of the canines and they each probably considered themselves the stars of the shoot.

First up, whilst energy was running high we decided to try for a possible cover shot. The set up was to be Neil and Chris sitting on a bright red sofa and literally surrounded by the dogs. It was a tight shot angle needed for the portrait shaped image so everyone had to squash in. A few of the little ones sat on laps and a couple of the dogs were positioned peeking over the back of the sofa. There were handlers on hand hiding behind the sofa to catch anyone who might have slid off!

Kipper.jpg

For a few of the shots, some of the dogs had to wear some props such as hats or sunglasses.

Here Kipper tries on a hat, as you can see he was quite taken with it and everyone wanted to get a picture of him in it. Just to his right you can see Poppy keeping a watchful eye on things.

The next series of shots were having all the dogs on their leads and them all to be held at once by Neil or Chris. The dogs were arranged by Adam into two groups of four, depending on who was getting along best and then four leads were to be held in each hand.

snap.jpg

Adam, the PetLondon animal handler practises for the shot with all 8 dogs being called towards the camera on cue.

The photographer for this shoot was Joseph Sinclair Being a dog owner himself he was great to work with and created a calm and friendly atmosphere for the animals.

It was a very short turnaround time since the magazine was due to be published in just two weeks after the photoshoot. Often in this industry there are much longer lead times and we have to wait months and months before the shots are released.

The credits for all the images below go to Joseph Sinclair and Attitude Magazine. We think they are fabulous and everyone involved did a fantastic job.

COVER

The Whole Gang on the Sofa with Neil and Chis. For this job a sneaky 9th dog, Poppy (she is the PetLondon logo dog ) snuck into the action, see if you can spot her! She had come along to supervise but for this shot the more the merrier and she was invited to join in.

Bunnies on Set for Look Magazine

As Easter approaches each year we tend to see a surge in demand for Bunnies! As these campaigns have to be planned out quite far in advance this can start as early as January for companies planning to release campaigns in the Spring. This year has been no different to usually and Rabbits have been in hot demand these past few months. One of these assignments was for a request from Look Magazine, a British publication. Look is a glossy high street fashion and celebrity weekly magazine for young women.  The magazine focuses on fashion, high street shopping advice, celebrity style and news, and real-life stories. The magazine was planning a spring themed photoshoot and were looking for a couple of bunnies to pose alongside some props such as perfume bottles.

After sending them lots of options to choose from, a decision was made to use Kira and Bucks Fizz who were both siblings and would get along great on set.

Both bunnies travelled over to the studio in North London where they were greeted by lots of fans! There were plenty of special cuddles for them from the team.

The bunnies were given some time to get acquainted with their co-stars, a selection of different perfume bottles! The positioning and lighting were all co-ordinated for the optimal images. Neither bunny was phased by all the attention and they were used to the camera flash.

As you can see from the above the end-results were absolutely stunning. There were plenty of fantastic images to choose from. Kira the grey bunny was especially a little star as he was quite willing to put his paw up on a prop or to wrap his paw around it as if he was holding the object.

After a really fun day the bunnies headed home to get some well deserved rest and to rejoin the rest of their family. It was then to be a couple of weeks wait before the article and accompanying images were to be published.

Look MagThe February issue of Look Magazine did not disappoint. Both rabbits looked fantastic in their triple-page spread.

Pearl of Peace for Harpers Baazar

Town & Country Magazine were in touch with PetLondon Models looking for a very special equine model to star in a shoot to celebrate the launch of the new Bond movie. The photoshoot was to held at Althorp House  Althorp is a Grade I listed stately home, estate and small civil parish in Daventry District, Northamptonshire, England of about 13,000 acres.

After proposing and reviewing several options a decision was made to use a stunning three year old stallion-Pearl of Peace.

Oro-01.jpg

Pearl of Peace is a very rate double colt with a golden coat. He is one of the only to be bred in England. His gorgeous coat colour is known as isabelo and it literally shines like gold.  Pearl of Peace is a large and stunning horse and a fantastic temperament as well. He is bred to be a Grand Prix Dressage horse and at this young age is already showing aptitude. His grandfather is the number one dressage stallion in America and his half brother won a silver medal at the Athens Olympics.

After travelling up to Althorp House the evening before the big day, Pearl of Peace got settled in for an early start on the grands and met his co-model, Naomie Harris. The two got on very well and made a perfect pair to create some dazzling images.

Naomie Harris stars as Miss Moneypenny in the new Bond film, she portrays a unique new portrayal of an iconic Bond character.

The weather could not have been more perfect for the day of the shoot and sun was gleaming off of Pearl of Peace’s coat. Naomie shimmered too in a selection of ball gowns. Here is one of the delightful final images that appeared in Town & Country mAGAZINE.

The client was thrilled with the end result and commented “Everything was perfect, Pearl of Peace was such a gorgeous colour in the sun, the weather was amazing“.

Loki for Aldi Christmas Campagin

PetLondon Models are often fortunate to land Christmas Campaigns during the busy winter months. Whether it could be promoting a pet product or simply adding some extra X-Factor to any type of product or service, animals are in hot demand around the holiday season.

We have to keep these jobs strictly under wraps until after Christmas because all the images and concepts are strictly top secret until the campaign launches. Now that Christmas is well out the way we would like to share with you one of our favourites from 2015. It was little Loki’s shoot for Aldi.

Loki is and adorable Cavapoo from London. She is Super-active and friendly with everyone, people and animals alike. Loki is not yet a year old but she has an impressive skill set that includes; sit, stand, high five, paw, rollover, stay and waits.
This little lady has a loving personality and is super loyal to her handler Heidi.

We first met Heidi and Loki when they signed with the agency and they came in to do a casting and some test shots. Loki was impecably behaved and we all agreed she was a professional in front of the camera.

Loki pulled off the classic over the shoulder pose right away during her first shoot. She also mastered some more tricky poses with the help of a puppy prop.

The casting call came in to PetLondon Models for a small dog to model Aldi’s Christmas range that included a matching jumper for dog and owner. After narrowing down their selection from a range of options, Loki was  the dog that was chosen for this assignment. We knew she could pull it off with no problems.

image2

Loki was a pro at showing off the lovely reindeer jumper and she interacted with the human model on set to create some lovely festive poses. Everyone on set agreed that she was a real star and their was some glowing feedback on her after the shoot.

ALDI Loki 3

“I just wanted to give you feedback about Loki and her owner. Our client has said they were both AMAZING. Loki was so adorable, and so well behaved, and just fantastic really. The owner Heidi was also really helpful, and if it wasn’t for her, who knows how the shoot would have gone, but overall, they were simply thrilled with the both of them” Booking Agency Quote

Cats on the Catwalk for Stella McCartney

PetLondon Models took part in an exciting campaign for fashion designer Stella McCartney. We were contacted and briefed that they were looking for a selection of different cats to model in a photoshoot at Sunbeam Studios in London. We got to work right away as there was not much time to spare and put together a range of different cats and kittens for them to review.

After some difficult selections, the lucky chosen felines were from left to right: Hechi, Tobias, Sammi, Adaline and Perla,

Excited to have landed this assignment, they all headed over to the studio where PetLondon handler Adam was on hand to make the introductions. A few were not sure of each other initially but warmed up to their new friends as the day went on.

Adam introduces Kitten Tobias to Perla. At first they were unimpressed with each other. Sometimes models dislike sharing the limelight…

Each cat took turns on set to model with top human models including Lineisy Montero. The shoot was for the Stella McCartney’s Autumn Collection Campaign. Some of the collection featured actual cats within the prints and designs, so it was a perfect fit!

Perla showing off one of the looks

Persian Model Perla has been modelling from a young age. She was quite a sensation on set with her striking features and calm demeanour. Her markings are really unique and give her such character. Whether it was hanging out on a giant cushion, being carried under the arm or trying an action shot, Perla was ready to provide whatever was needed.

PetLondon were particularly happy to be working with Stella since she has a great passion for animal welfare and all of her brands collections are always animal-friendly. Stella McCartney doesn’t use leather, feathers or fur in any of its designs or products. This commitment is admirable and something that very few high end brands follow such a chosen path. PetLondon’s ethos is all about animal welfare as a priority so this synergy created a great connection.

Unknown-8

In a particularly tricky shot, Adam makes sure that Persian Hechi is safe and balanced on the models shoulder, he was on and to jump in at split seconds notice

All the models really enjoyed the shoot. They took it in turns to model different looks from the collection with different models. It was a long day though and at one point Perla was so relaxed she fell asleep in one of the designer handbags.

Unknown-13

At first we noticed she was very comfortable and relaxed inside the handbag

s

Next thing we knew, she was fast a sleep. Well, you know what they say, a girl has to get her beauty sleep

All of the PetLondon Models worked hard and created some fabulous images for the campaign.
