Firm Friendship on Set for Boden

Once again PetLondon Models has worked with Boden on another campaign. The British clothing retailer sells primarily online, by mail order and catalogue. Founded by Johnnie Boden in 1991 as a mail order business, the company has grown to selling across the globe with websites in UK, US, Germany and Australia.

They have recently opened a flagship store in King’s Road, Chelsea alongside partnering with John Lewis in 2017 with plans for expansion into 2019. The new London flagship store offering consumers Boden’s adult ranges, Mini Boden for children age 0-16 and special collections such as Boden Icons.

After careful consideration from the client, two dog models were chosen for the campaign. The first was Marlow, the Hungarian Vizla, a veteran in the industry. He is extremely soppy character but full of life and easy to please. Doris, the Fox Terrier is extremely relaxed and just wants to be involved with everyone else. She is taken to work every day by her owner so she is very used to different environments.

A little love story bloomed on set, when Marlow and Doris met on set for the first time. Having never met each other before, they instantly bonded over their love of tennis balls. They were inseparable during their down time. They were seen sharing treats and chilling out together, even posing for some photos together both with extremely big grins on their faces.

After lots of sniffing, meeting the human model and the rest of the cast and crew, the models took instantly to the assignment. Working closely with the model for some great candid shots. I hope you will agree the photographer captured some amazing moments.

Who knows what can happen on set? We’ve had stories of long lost siblings reunited on set. I hope you can join us in congratulating Marlow and Doris on this stela performance.

The two breeds selected for this specifically for the rural aesthetic of the shoot. The two breeds chosen are much deliberation were the West Highland Terrier and the Scottish Terrier.

PetLondon Models, since its foundation over 10 years ago has propelled more pets to stardom than any other animal agency in the UK. In response with the explosively rapid growth over the last couple of years for marketers and brands across all sectors wanting to use fido or feline social media superstars, we created our exclusive Instafamous Pets Division.

This is the definitive industry insider guide on how to make your pet both Instagram famous with thousands of followers but how this can translate into being a successful animal model. This guide includes in-depth and essential considerations gleamed both from our extensive professional experience, as well as top tips from social media superstars themselves.

  1. Make it fun for everyone involved

Set out on this journey with the key intention of having fun, first and foremost. The best social media stars start with the owners wanting to create, strengthen their bonds with their pet and to share special memories.

This must be translated into the whole experience where you must reward regularly your budding Instagram star for their hard work with lots of attention. Whether it be a treat, a new toy or jacket, or just some good old fashioned playtime; let them be who they are and express themselves!

  1. Find your Thing

Take a note from the huge social media stars, sharing a story through their passions and interests is key to starting out. No matter what your interest, find a way in experiencing your passions together.

Insta-famous dogs have been seen doing everything from dressing up and making music videos, reviewing amazing dog friendly restaurants in your city, posing in front of amazing visits and places or helping you to beat your best 5Km  time on a Saturday morning.

  1. Post, Post & Post some More

No one will follow a profile with only eight photos, with a couple of them in low lighting. Save up a collection of pics taken over a couple of months. We use Iphone’s Portrait mode to snap some good quality photos, but maybe invest in a SLR camera if you plan to snap in some challenging environments!

Like anything in life, consistency and persistence is key. Planning some shots and sticking to a schedule, you will quickly reap the rewards. Link your account with Instagram’s analytic programmes to see insights on timings and audiences. Remember where in the world you audience might be and post accordingly.

Mix it up! Instagram not only has the capacity to post single or multiple photos, but also there are videos, looping boomerangs, stories, and live recordings. Differentiating posts and keeping it fresh is bound to excite and attract new followers. Give your captions a tone and a voice, some of the best use very innovative methods of communication mimicking perfectly how they think their pet will sound.

Don’t forget to use hashtags, have a look at what similar profiles are posting. Videos always gain more intentions than photos as well. An insider tip is to use  a mixture of specific and generic hashtags in a process known as laddering.

  1. Become a PR Networking Professional

Akin to your professional and personal life, it’s vital to your pet’s budding social media journey is to get out there and to attract people’s attention… both digitally and in real life.

From heading to dog meetups in your local area, attending social media conferences and contacting on twitter key industry and influencer professionals, there are a multitude of ways.

For example, PetLondon Models visited both Pupaid in Primrose Hill and Chiswick Dog Show, to market our agency and meet potential stars living in the local neighbourhood. We even had one dog, give us a business card with his social media handles!

Collaborating with other dog owners with a similar number of followers of your creates an amazing buzz, allowing to post some cool photos and make some friends in the process!

The more you interact online, with all types of people, who knows what successes lie ahead will be in the long run. We have recruited models from Instagram ourselves(@petlondonmodels).

  1. Training and becoming a Instafamous Model

A strong sit and stay command in extremely stimulating and challenging environments. It make this fame-seeking task easier and more efficient  but you’ve got to teach your pet to actually enjoy posing for the camera. Using toys or treats are always good, but with the right training your pet could perform tens of tricks.

These skills are extremely transferable to being a model and part of our agency.

We have worked with the biggest names in the business from Disney to The Sunday Times, from Burberry to Virgin Media. Being part of our agency means exclusive access in being shortlisted or booked for biggest advertising, marketing and PR campaigns with globally renowned brands.

In September 2017, Cineworld asked specifically for Instafamous Pugs for a campaign.

What’s better exposure them being on a national TV advert campaign or seeing your super-star in the pages of a national newspaper? We stress again that do not make your pet do anything they don’t want to do. Patience, peristence and positive reinforcement are the cornerstones to success.

Corgi Marcel for ILIFE Robot Vacuum Cleaner: An overnight suck-cess.

In today’s world, modern households are run like well oiled machines. Overlapping schedules and hefty workloads means it’s no surprise that days are neatly timetabled from crack of dawn to downtime in the evening. Keeping any household in pristine condition is difficult; so an automated vac which can mop up any mucky pup spills or shed dog hair is a must.

ILife V5 Pro

PetLondon Models was tasked to find a star for ILife Vacuum cleaners. The brief was broad but with three conditions: firstly advanced commands were necessary, secondly good with children, and thirdly not to be scared of hoovers or robots. After a lot of considerations between a few different individuals; Marcel the Corgi was finalised. One of our few international jet-setting models, he spends his time between London and Paris… Lucky him!

Marcel is a very rate ‘Fluffy’ Pembroke Welsh Corgi with the longer silky coat. As demonstrated he has an excellent attention span and skill; performing commands such as sit, down, roll over, spin and high five (as seen in the video) with ease. He’s an experienced model used with working in different environments and working with a range of talent.

Bonding with the crew behind the scenes

Anything that allows for more time spent with your dog was certainly a brand we could get behind! The brand new V range has a programmable daily cleaning plan and remote controlled max-power mode rids homesteads of hard-to-clean dirt and stains, such as shed dog hair and dust which can disrupt normal day-to-day living.

Marcel the consummate professional integrated right into his new family straight away. Always up for play-time he took to running around in the garden in his stride. Marcel loved the attention of the camera especially during his close up shot in bed. His superb obedience allowed for some amazing shots, including the super expressive welcome home look.

Be sure to watch the video below to check out how fabulously our star actor performed.

Congratulations Marcel you were a star!
