Sony’s Super Slow-mo Shoot for the Xperia XZ Premium

Sony having been impressed with our work previously, contacted PetLondon Models once again to find some animal models to feature in a super slow motion advert for the release of their flagship Xperia XZ Pro. We were excited to be part of the world’s first super slow motion video in smartphone. To demonstrate the serious slow motion video capturing prowess of the phone, Sony required five different animals for the advert as each model was to be captured in ground-breaking  rich 4K high-definition detail.

Impressively the advert was filmed using the Xperia XZ Premium itself. The USP for this product is that it incorporates the best of Sony TV technologies delivered in a smartphone. A super-vivid and sharp display, right in the palm of your hand. The 4K Ultra HD display, this 5.5” smartphone packs in four times the resolution of Full HD for an unrivalled viewing experience. We were so impressed we got one for use in the office.

In order to capture the various spectacles and to demonstrate the versatility of the Xperia, Sony requested a variety of animals, to work collaboratively, something a bit more unusual.  Two dogs, two cats & a hare, were finalised as the models.

Loly, Chow Chow – The unique ‘fluffy lion-dog’s’ quiet and loyal temperament  allowed for an amazingly impressive cute slow mo head ruffling on her super furry head. The Chow Chow is one of the few existing dogs breeds still around today and are known for their fierce loyalty to families.

Gunner, Spaniel – The recent star of Nissan’s Dog friendly concept car is always very energetic, with  the bountiful leap and impressive toy catching skills  captured in all its glory. Always performing right on cue, she is becoming a client favourite.

Lennard, Burmese – Colourpoint kitten with piercing blue eyes was very laid-back on the shoot, but very energetic & expressive when leaping across set. The breed are said to have a number of overtly puppy-like characteristics, forming strong bonds with their owners and gravitating toward human activity.

Caiomhe, Main Coone – super playful and vocal, with impressive acrobatics of swiping the toy while stretching on her back legs. In the 17th and 18th centuries, domestic cats brought over on ships to the newly discovered Americas and faced very severe winters in Mane, USA, where only the strongest and most adaptable cats survived. The Maine Coon developed outdoors into a large, rugged cat with a water-resistant, thick, longhair coat with a hardy yet playful and expressive constitution.

Topaz, Hare, the docile and dog like star, who loves cuddles by resting front legs on anyone who will give her attention. Nicole her owner has hand reared her from birth, with a family of other hares and bunny rabbits. She’s the mother hen of the group ensuring each animal is tucked away safely at night.

The shoot took place on Kennington Road in South East London, the staggered arrivals of each model during the day of filming ensured a smooth and successful day of filming.  The day had no hiccups with each  modelling performing flawlessly on set.

The advert has been captured on the phone itself, and it looks incredible. We’ve got one in the office to use for all our promotional materials! Well done everyone involved, especially the animal models. A truly spectacular result, watch below for the final result.

River Island’s New Dog Collection 2017 – Featuring Suki & Jeff

River Island’s triumphant move last year into the dog apparel  & accessories stunned the fashion industry. On the back of this success, RI is launching their new 2017 collection for pets and asked PetLondon Models once again for our animals to model their new clothing range for the promotional photoshoot.

This time the client wanted to find two new talents to model this brand new range. After much deliberation between models, the two lucky dogs to be chosen to part of this new range were Suki the gorgeous slender Lurcher, the adorable orange fluff ball that is Jeff, the Cottonoodle (half Poodle & half Coton de Tulear).

Suki is used to being in front of the camera. She is an experienced model having worked with fashion houses such as Harvey Nichols over the years. New hotshot heart-throb Jeff has also secured a succession of jobs in recent times, forhouseholds names such Next. Both the dog stars were in their element posing for the camera for this innovative fashioned focused range, and loved being the centre of attention during the shoot.

The animal models had a chance to play with toys for the camera-what could be more fun as a job! They also tried on some of the ready-to-wear pieces from the new range and took their turns at striking a pose. Jeff nailed the over the shoulder look and Suki was a pro at the seated beg.

The ‘Pawfect’ New Nissan Concept Car For Dogs

PetLondon Models was tasked to find three models for a day’s filming for  Nissan’s new dog-friendly concept car, the X-Trail 4Dogs. The innovative crossover vehicle has a bespoke boot space with an impressive array of features for the ultimate adventure with the family, especially those with canine companions.

Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs

Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs: cool matching dog motive on boot and keys

After an impressive auditions, three dogs were successful: Gunner the Spaniel, Gizmo the Pug, and Hunter the Saint Bernard.

Hunter the gentle giant, who loves cars and traveling to see new places and meet new people was naturally suited for the assignment; he definitely did a better road test than Jeremy Clarkson could have done.  Gunner, lives with two cats and many guinea pigs at home, and his bouncy and infectious personality, made him ideally suited to befriending the other pets. Similarly, Gizmo’s, an experienced model, who’s worked on numerous campaigns was cool, calm and collected as always. His warm and friendly temperament was a welcome addition to the team.

The premise for this exciting concept for Nissan X-Trail,  was research undertaken by Nissan that determined that 99% of dog owners considers their pet to be part of the family and use their car to transport their dog, and that a new car which boasts more dog friendly features would be perfect.  The crossover’s luggage compartment has been turned into a dog haven, with a variety of new side compartments for storage doggy accessories, a completely wipe-clean leather and more innovative  features benefitting both the dog or owner.

First on the list, is a 360 degree pull out shower, to wash off mud and dirt after muddy stomps in the woods, then the fur can be dried with jets of hot air from the dog dryer. For ease of access and to keep mud of the owner, there is a slide-away ramp which folds directly into a space in the boot. When your dogs are settled inside, they can enjoy  a luxurious bed, a drink from the no-spill water bowl and a snack from the smart dog treat dispenser.

Nissan has thought of everything with a clip-on harness hook and an innovative ‘dog-cam’ technology which uses Nissan’s infotainment system, allowing owner and pet to see each other, whilst keeping your dog calm via an audio link.

Due to a non-disclosure agreement, we like to call a NDA in the business; we cannot go behind the scenes for this project. We can tell you that it was a very successful and enjoyable day filming for all those involved. We would love to know what your thoughts are regarding the X-Trail 4Dogs. We fell in love with the concept as anything that promotes dogs are parts of the family we endorse here at PetLondon Models.

Check out the video below to see all of the features in action. The shower is worth its weight in gold after all that muck from the lakeside adventures!

Head over to to check out all of our models and our previous work. We consider all range of exotic and domestic models to be on our books!

Showcase Spotlights – Chinchillas

Jez, Mags and Mylo are three pedigree Chinchillas, some of our more unusual PetLondon Models. These exotic pets, were worshipped by Incas as they were deemed to possess  ‘an ancient wisdom’ far beyond any other animal. Chinchillas are hyper intelligent and on par with the smartest dog breeds, understanding lots of language and responding extremely well to teaching.  Their unique and differing personalities are easily observed, where their hopes and dreams, expressions and mannerisms can be captured on film forever.

Jez has a unmatched composure, making him the perfect choice for any situation. He know he’s the best and wants to be the centre of attention; and with good reason, he’s the best behaved Chinchilla in the business. At home he’s a total romantic tucking himself into bed with his owner. Outside of modelling, Jez likes to keep himself in shape; reliable sources have said he’s a taskmaster when it comes to exercise, running faster and harder in his wheel, when his PT clients are slacking off.

Sassy, feisty and princess like are the hallmarks of all world class supermodels; the same qualities in found in the beautiful female Mags. Her younger years were spent chasing away men, being in the limelight and everything had to be on her terms; but now she has mellowed into a veteran superstar. A total diva, she doesn’t tolerate incompetence, and neither should she.

The handsome chappie Mylo is the ladies’ man of the group, constantly playing kiss-chase and showing off to impress the ladies. Very placid with a ‘chilla’ personality, he loves being held; his treat is tickles under his chin.   His genetics are the key to his charm and success; in 2014 his Mum placed 1st at the National Chinchilla Society Show. Once when he decided that the stylist wasn’t up to the task for a Halloween shoot, he ran under a desk, to emerge moments later in cobwebs squeaking ‘I’m a Ghost’.

The three Chinchilla models are the extremely splendid Brevicaudata species with the short ears, teeth and tails, along with their round fluffy bodies and super expressive faces. Pedigree Chinchillas have been severely underutilised across all media campaigns. Jez, Mags & Mylo know how irresistible and unforgettable they are. These endearing and unique exotics are sure to make an impact wherever they go.

Mucky Pup Teddy for Persil

Persil UK contacted PetLondon Models to find them a puppy to star in their brand new  #Willitclean online ads.  Persil is the UK’s leading brand of laundry detergent products and known both across Europe and international markets. They required one highly trained dog who wasn’t afraid to dirty and leave muddy puppy paw prints all across the set. After much deliberation and a casting video being the deciding factor between the finalists, the winner was chosen! It was superb Teddy a Cavalier cross Bichon, who became the star of the show.

Teddy .jpg

Ever since they first met, when Teddy was a three month old puppy; Teddy and Jade, his owner, have been the best of friends. Ever since he was at puppy training academy, he’s been praised by all for his eagerness to learn and his ability to pick things up very quickly.  The reward for learning new tricks is a winning combination of organic dog treats and his beloved tennis balls. Teddy’s passion for the fuzzy yellow balls is something to behold and it’s a well-known fact his love for them is second to none.

Teddy took to his new found stardom extremely well and produced a stellar performance; his chatty and vocal personality optimised by the cutest bark ever as seen in the advert itself. Teddy’s curious nature meant he got into a little bit of trouble when he started eating the pot of mud that was intended for his coat, but I think we will forgive him for being so utterly adorable.

Teddy Muddy.jpg

In the shot where his back is turned from the camera, Jade used his favourite toy to distract him as his  inquisitive mind wanted to explore the action that was going on behind him and the camera.

All in all, Teddy produced a top notch performance and enjoyed the whole experience. I don’t think anyone can resist being the centre of attention, surrounded by adoring fans and treats. We have been reliably informed that he can’t wait to get in front of the camera again to ‘wow’ audiences worldwide with his trusty tennis ball close by.

Virgin-Dogs on a Train!

Virgin Trains contacted PetLondon Models with a very exciting job; six dogs and one snake would be taken on a train journey from London to Newark as part of their new advert, promoting Virgin’s pet friendly policy. Customers can bring up to two domestic animals with them on their Virgin Train journeys for no extra cost, so you can enjoy the festive adventures knowing your pets can be part of the fun.

The lucky animals chosen were Eric, the Harlequin Great Dane; Darcey, the Poodle; Quincy, the British Bulldog; Atlas, the Pyrenean Mountain Dog; Dorothy, the Yorkshire Terrier; Maisie, the West Highland Terrier and Cleo the snake.

The team assembled at Kings Cross, ready for their round trip to Newark. There was an wary morning meet and greet so all the animals, large and small could get acquainted and have a good sniff!

The train had a first class carriage reserved for the animals, making sure all the pets and their handlers were comfortable on their journey. PetLondon’s Animal handler Adam made sure the dogs were settled in and let them get used to their new and exciting surroundings before the shoot began.

The photoshoot included lots of fun tasks, including the dogs playing board games, reading the paper and enjoying the view from the train window. Other shots included four dogs sitting in a pod of four and enjoying the journey together. The dogs were even served some special food and beverages and had their tickets checked by a Virgin Trains Inspector.

The dogs all found the carriage very comfortbale. Virgin Trains’ refurbished interiors provides the best possible customer experience whatever your species ahead of the arrival of the Virgin’s Azuma trains in 2018awfcf6euwxzbhhxifpflbugxczbzar5k_virgin_trains___2_

Darcey watching the world go by

The dogs seemed very relaxed on their journey, particularly Quincy who looked right at home having a well deserved lie down on one of the tables and Darcey who especially ended the view from the window and watching the world go by.

There was also a non-canine on this shoot! Cleo the snake also did a great job showing that Virgin Train’s pet friendly policy is not just for dogs. Cleo is a Royal Python who is four foot long. She is very calm and enjoyed all the limelight.

Snakes on a train

All the animals involved did a fantastic job promoting Virgin’s pet friendly policy, and enjoyed their exciting first class adventure. Well done to all those involved!

Hudson and Bertie for River Island

River Island have recently started an exciting new venture into dog clothing and accessories and contacted PetLondon Models for two dogs to promote the new range . They required two friendly, photogenic pooches who matched the specific sizes of the products. Lots of our fabulous dogs were suggested, and after much deliberation, the two lucky pups selected were Bertie the Pug and Hudson the Shih Poo.

Bertie the pug is no stranger to the camera, having previously taken part in a shoot for Mattel. He loves to work with other dogs and is very well socialised, and has an impressive skill set for such a young pooch. Shih Poo Hudson is as equally as friendly and talented, and when he is picked up he will wrap his paws around you and cuddle back! Both dogs are very happy modelling clothes, which comes across in the photos as both pups look very comfortable in the range of stunning garments.

Bang on trend: Hudson in Khaki Green Bomber Jacket

The exclusive River Island Pet Apparel Collection features nine items, including cable knit sweaters, a bomber jacket, collars and matching leads. Hudson and Bertie look fantastic in the clothes, and did a great job of showing off the new range.

There has been a lot of media attention surrounding the RI Dog launch, with several articles released from publications including The Independent and The Daily Mail. The images of Bertie and Hudson also appeared on ITV’s Lorraine, promoting the collection and showing off some of the wonderful photos from the shoot. The collection has so far proved incredibly popular, with sizes selling out fast and people taking to social media to share their excitement.

The RI Dog range is available both online and in selected stores, including the flagship branch on Oxford Street. Sizes come in Small, Medium and Large, and are perfect Christmas gifts for your canine friends!

Starina for VOGUE

Vogue China were in touch with PetLondon Models looking for a cat to star in one of their editorials for the June edition of the magazine. The cat selected was Starina the British Shorthair, who is no stranger to the camera, and has featured in a number of exciting shoots such as the recent project with Thomas Cook. Starina has an incredibly unique look, with stunning ‘David Bowie’ style eyes, one pale green and the other bright blue.

Starina is an incredibly calm and relaxed cat, and loves being in front of the camera.”Starina was walking around the studio all day like she owned it“, Saz, Starina’s owner joked. Starina’s chilled attitude and model behaviour impressed the whole Vogue China crew, who were able to get all six shots they hoped for. Regina Chan, Fashion and Accessory Editor, adored Starina so much, that she now follows the feline’s Instagram account.

Saz also commented that the crew made the pair feel very comfortable, and Starina seemed very relaxed during the entire process: “It was one of my favourite shoots, and we had a great time.  Starina kept herself entertained during the day by playing with the brightly coloured backdrop paper on set.”

Playing with the set

Modelling with a range of models, shoes and bags, Starina’s love of all things luxurious meant she was a perfect fit for the shoot, and looks natural and relaxed surrounded by the designer products. Starina was a particular fan of sitting in one of the luxury handbags, and made herself very comfortable and had a well deserved cat nap. Using Starina’s favourite chain toy, the crew were able to get her attention and get some fantastic shots of her in the bag.

The image below was taken just after Starina’s shut eye, and turned out to be one of the best shots of the day.

Staring did a fantastic job, and the spread came out beautifully. Keep an eye out for more Starina in the future!

Dobby for Racecourse

The Beverley Racecourse contacted PetLondon Models seeking a very special hound to attend their annual Ladies Day event. They knew exactly which breed they were looking for! A Dachshund who would be wearing a specially fitted ‘Dasch Cam’ during the event. We got to work and sent them details of all our Dachshund models who fit this brief. The job was to take place in East Yorkshire near Hull.

After some contemplation the lucky chosen dog was to be DOBBY. This rather famous little chap is a great personality and loves going on adventures.  Still under one years old, Dobby has a great list of special skills and tricks and already has several model jobs with PetLondon under his belt.

1.jpg       dd.jpg

There was a lot of press interested in Dobby’s attendance at the event and several articles were published surrounding the story. The public were very excited for the chance to meet Dobby at the races. Normally when Dobby leaves the house he is always being stopped by people wanting to say hello to him and he is somewhat of a celebrity in his local town.

3Dobby was looking very handsome on the day of his event and set off from the Midlands with his owner wearing a very dapper bow tie that would be sure to impress the ladies.

Upon arrival he parked up and came onto the grounds where he was introduced to his co-star Rosie and had his special camera pack fitted.

Dobby loved exploring the Westwood course and meeting lots of new people. Dobby’s assignment was to capture all the glamour of the races on his ‘Dasch Cam’. Thousands of attendees had dressed up in their finest attire, hoping to get spotted for the best dressed competition. Dobby made his rounds all the way around the racecourse, sniffing out all the best looks (and shoes!) to be found. All this was captured to create a fantastic social media video that we are delighted to share with you below.

Cooper for FEARLESS

A fun job request came in from the University of Northampton. They knew exactly what they were looking for! A Blue/Grey French Bulldog with a white patch on his/her chest to open and close their fashion show and to be the star visitor for the event.

We were provided with a copy of their invitation that featured a French Bulldog that they were trying to match as closely as possible. We had a couple of options for them to choose from that fitted this precise brief. After exchanging several model profile details and checking availability with some of our dogs and handlers the chosen Frenchie was the very lovely Cooper !

This was a great choice. Cooper is extremely friendly with everyone, very well socialized and used to lots of people around him. He accepts cats, very friendly with all dogs and loves children. He is very relaxed in busy environments. He can sit, shake, stay and give paw and learn special requests .

Unlike some of our jobs, this client was very well organised and left of plenty of planning time, so Cooper had quite a while to get ready for his trip and look forward to the event.

On the day of the show, Cooper and his handler travelled up on the train from London. They arrived to find that Cooper was presented with a specially prepared and branded dog coat so that he would match the theme of the evening. The colour really suited him.

Cooper loved his raincoat!

Cooper had a specific schedule and plenty of time to relax, rest and enjoy meeting everyone. Everyone was very excited to meet with him before the show started and lots of people wanted to take pictures with him of course.

Cooper is a very well behaved and boy and was able to roam freely around the venue taking in the sights and showing off his new coat.

Cooper was the star of the event and everyone absolutely loved him. When it was time for the show to start Cooper took pride of place at the front of the show.

The client was very happy with the the models performance and even dropped us a message saying  “Just a note to say that Cooper the French Bulldog was a complete success, he did everything and more that we needed him to do. Cooper welcomed our VIP Guests on the steps of the University, then moved to the Art Gallery, then he queued up for an ice cream and then walked to the front of the Marquee and laid down in exactly the spot we wanted him to – PERFECT!”

Well done to Cooper for a very successful assignment and on being able to being smiles to so many faces 🙂
