Far Cry: New Dawn Media Launch Event

PetLondon was tasked to find a Shiba Inu for an exclusive media launch of Ubisoft’s Far Cry: New Dawn video game; where selected guests were allowed to play and capture footage for the upcoming release on 15th February 2019. Taking place in London, this event was filled with streamers as well as many senior directors and developers from Ubisoft. This included colleagues from Ubisoft Montreal, the lead developer, and supporting studios: Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Kiev and Ubisoft Shanghai.

PetLondon has a rich pedigree working with AAA publishers. We have been involved with video game launches and events with Activision for the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts and more recently Electronic Arts for the release of Sims 4: Cats and Dogs. Working with these developers, PetLondon has sought to bring these launch events and parties to life where hundreds working together for this cinematic experiences.

Far Cry: New Dawn is an action-adventure open world first person shooter developed by Ubisoft. Far Cry New Dawn is a standalone sequel to the events of Far Cry 5 that took place in the fictional Hope County, Montana with varied terrain and geographical landscapes.

Similar to previous expansions from the Far Cry Series, such as Far Cry: Blood Dragon and Far Cry: Primal the game reuses the map of the previous game with a new twist in proceedings, reflecting the lower price tag at launch.

Far Cry: New Dawn is set 15 years after the end of Far Cry 5 after the nuclear explosion triggered at the end of the epic campaign. In the post apocalyptic world survivors try to rebuild a community; however, this is hampered by the efforts of main antagonists (pictured above), twin sisters, Mickey and Lou.

The distinctive pink overtones to the game were done with deliberation. The game’s bright colour palettes is due to a ‘super-bloom’ of flora where nature reclaims the landscape with a plethora of colours. The team thought this would counteract the deliberate troupe of dark and dingy post-apocalyptic settings seen in other games.

After much deliberation, Raion was chosen for the event, where he was tasked with Meeting and Greeting the selected guests, taking selfies with them and aiding their adventures across Hope County.

The reason for a Shiba Inu starring at the event is that in Far Cry: New Dawn has a dog called Timber which is available in-game as a ‘Fang for Hire’. Timber is one of many characters that can help you aide take down outposts and carry out missions in the world.

Raion was an instant hit with everyone there. Gamers and developers alike took turns petting him and stroking him. Some in-house photographers took snaps of him posing on the gaming sofas and the stairs leading down the basement. This basement was the ultimate gaming den with low level lighting, memorabilia and comfy sofas with gaming setups to play the game pre-release.

YouTube Gamers including JackFrags were invited to the event to preview the game. The videos have hundreds of thousands of views and tons of interaction. Raion is now definitely their new favourite pup. The video below from YouTube sees Timber helping his friend.

It’s always fun to work with publishers on their new video games. The hype surrounding these events and launches are always something to behold. Thank you to Ubisoft for such a great event where the audience seemed to be as bigger dog lovers as video game lovers.

Firm Friendship on Set for Boden

Once again PetLondon Models has worked with Boden on another campaign. The British clothing retailer sells primarily online, by mail order and catalogue. Founded by Johnnie Boden in 1991 as a mail order business, the company has grown to selling across the globe with websites in UK, US, Germany and Australia.

They have recently opened a flagship store in King’s Road, Chelsea alongside partnering with John Lewis in 2017 with plans for expansion into 2019. The new London flagship store offering consumers Boden’s adult ranges, Mini Boden for children age 0-16 and special collections such as Boden Icons.

After careful consideration from the client, two dog models were chosen for the campaign. The first was Marlow, the Hungarian Vizla, a veteran in the industry. He is extremely soppy character but full of life and easy to please. Doris, the Fox Terrier is extremely relaxed and just wants to be involved with everyone else. She is taken to work every day by her owner so she is very used to different environments.

A little love story bloomed on set, when Marlow and Doris met on set for the first time. Having never met each other before, they instantly bonded over their love of tennis balls. They were inseparable during their down time. They were seen sharing treats and chilling out together, even posing for some photos together both with extremely big grins on their faces.

After lots of sniffing, meeting the human model and the rest of the cast and crew, the models took instantly to the assignment. Working closely with the model for some great candid shots. I hope you will agree the photographer captured some amazing moments.

Who knows what can happen on set? We’ve had stories of long lost siblings reunited on set. I hope you can join us in congratulating Marlow and Doris on this stela performance.

If you think you have what it takes to become a model, head to http://www.petlondonmodels.com to sign up or give us a call on 02075807580 to discuss opportunities.

House Hunting with your Dog for Rover.com

Buying a house is the single largest financial transaction that many people undertake in their life. Britain is a nation of dog lovers, with one in four families owning a four legged friend, increasingly treating them as one of the family and influencing lifestyle choices just like a other members of the family.

So why hasn’t dog friendly property viewing become standard practice in the property industry as dogs become increasingly important decision makers in the house buying process?

dog-viewing-days2-1537882493 (1).jpg

Rover.com, the largest dog sitting company in association with Emoov, an online estate agency undertook a survey, finding some amazing results about dog owners of Great Britain. This was to coincide with Emoov’s dog friendly house viewings across the country that took on the 29th and 30th of September.

Rover.com, the world’s largest network of pet-sitters and dog-walkers, is well known in the US, but recently has acquired leading European dog-boarding, doggy day care and dog-walking platform, DogBuddy with operations across the UK and Europe.

To compliment the survey undertaken by the two clients, PetLondon was tasked with finding some four legged house hunters for this exciting photoshoot.

After much deliberation the four house hunters selected for this extremely important task were:

Bernie, a gentle giant Bernadoodle cross, who is extremely well trained. She knows over 30 different tricks.

The aptly named Barry the Pug, who’s full a character with an extremely cheeky character, and always asking questions!

Cooper the blue French Bulldog, who’s extremely laid back attitude taking any event or environment in his stride.

Lastly, Reggie the adventurous Schnauzer, who brings plenty of energy on set. His cream colouring is extremely rare.

Some fantastic photos were taken on the day, including Bernie and Cooper looking like a happily married couple on the doorstep looking for their new family home.

Our favourite shot taken was Doug, given a ginormous yawn when the Estate Agent was going through the paperwork of the property with him. He’s probably just enjoying the extremely comfortable sofa and cushions which is high up on his priorities.

An amazingly candid shot was taken with Bernie, with her paws resting up on the table, cup of the tea, listening intently and asking questions on various aspects of the property.

We would love to know if you agree with the sentiments found in the recent survey. The key findings included:

  • 82% of potential buyers would turn down their dream house if it wasn’t suitable for their dog
  • 64% of owners said they would only buy a property if the garden was big enough for their dog
  • 44% told us they’d only buy a new pad if there were local walking routes and open-spaces nearby
  • 40% of dog owners said that they’d prefer to take their dogs property shopping with them if the option was available

Congratulations to all those involved. It was a highly successful shoot with some amazing results.

Getting Muddy for Jaguar Land Rover

PetLondon was delighted to work alongside two iconic automotive brands for a stills photography assignment. We were delighted to be working with both Land Rover and Jaguar for the promotion of their Pet Packages across a range of cars designed to making travelling with your pet easier. Since the merger in 2016, Jaguar Land Rover is the largest automotive car producer in Britain with operations across Europe and the far East, with plans to set up an classic cars division in the US starting in Summer 2019.

Red 3

The two British brands under the label of Jaguar Land Rover were looking to promote their pet packages optional extras for various vehicles in their ranges. These include the complete Range Rover and Land Rover range including the Evoke, Vogue, Sport and Discovery and Jaguar’s New Electric SUV the I-Pace, alongside their F-Pace SUV and XF Sportbrake estate car.

Willow 1

The two four-legged fido models in question were two extremely different breeds, that are extremely popular with families. The two breeds chosen were a Labrador and a Vizla. After much consideration, Red, the handsome Labrador and Willow the graceful Vizla were chosen for this particular assignment. They performed like superstars, we think thoroughly enjoying sitting in the super spacious boots of these luxury cars.

Willow 4

The luxury car companies had identified their pet-friendly audiences and wanted to give new buyers pet-friendly bespoke accessories to add an extra level of comfort and convenience to your vehicle for the whole family. The dog friendly Jaguar Gear Accessories and Land Rover’s Pet Packs have been carefully designed with your pet in mind, both for the benefit of your dog with extra comfort and to protect your car from sandy, grit and mud.

More and more dogs are seen as members of the family, that are being taken on trips to the beach and shared occasions with the whole family. These adventures bring inevitable muddy paws and wet coats. These pet packs are designed to be practical always adhering to the luxury excepted from consumers with impressive and meticulous design.

The Pet Pack help protect fabrics from damage or dirt brought into the car both during normal day to day activities as well as any adventures. The luggage Compartment Partition keeps the boot of the vehicle separated from the rest of your car, primarily for safety this keeps the dogs safe and secure but also stops from the back and passenger seats getting marked or dirty.

The pack also includes either a rubber mat or rigid lining tray which features a lipped edge, which is particularly handy. Both options are fully waterproof, so no liquid soaks in the carpet and both the rubber mat and liner tray can be easily removed and wiped or washed down.

All in all, it was a fantastic opportunity to promote safe and easy travel with your pets, allowing them to part of the memories that you create together. With both car manufacturers having huge international markets, hopefully you will see these pet packages in a neighbourhood near you.

Cat’s on a country estate for Harper’s Bazaar

Regarded for their symbol of refined luxury cats have become synonymous with the fashion industry throughout the world. The ancient Egyptians worshipped felines firstly for their ability to control vermin in households and over the following centuries, the domesticated cat became a symbol of grace and pose across Egyptian and other cultures.

IMG_7410

PetLondon Models was tasked to find a family of exquisite looking cats for an opulent fashion shoot to be published with Harper’s Bazaar, the premier woman’s fashion magazine. It now has 32 international editions, across 48 countries, in 21 languages, over 11 million readers, and over 2 million issues sold each month.  The felines were chosen to celebrate the cat themed leopard print and kitten heels in vogue for this season, with model Florence Kosky with styling from Charlie Harrington.

PetLondon was primely positioned for the assignment having worked on high-end shoots with a variety of cats for Tatler, Stella McCartney and Vogue previously.

20180531_122334

The natural choice of cat models were the family of Maine Coon cats. The Maine Coon is one of the largest domesticated breeds of cat and one of the oldest natural breeds in North America. Specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official state cat. Theories suggest these cats are offspring of the first cats that travelled across with the first settlers. The Maine Coon is a large and sociable cat, hence its nickname, “the gentle giant.” Reputed for its intelligence and playful, gentle personality, the Maine Coon is often cited as having “canine-like” sensibilities.

This family of six young adults are named Henry, Jimmy, Murphy, Oliver, Bobby, Raphael, Mika & Sky . They are all extremely relaxed in new environments, with the owner taking them tolocal cafes and hospitals making them a great fit for the shoot. The models are all pictured below and their profile can be found here.

mainecoonfamily-photo-1505819975583230.jpg

The shoot took place in Shotover House, also called Shotover Park, is an 18th-century country house in Wheatley, Oxfordshire. The house, garden and park are Grade I-listed with English Heritage, and 18 additional structures on the property are also listed. The house is privately owned in trust and formerly the residence of Sir John Miller, the lte close friend of Queen Elizabeth II.

Inside the drawing room of the spectacular residence, the set was prepared in one of the numerous drawing rooms. The shoot was centred around an ornate Chesterfield chaise. The cats performed posing together with the model and enjoyed just chilling out on the sofa in the downtime. The relaxed and regal poses of the feline models echoed the grandeur of the location spectacularly well.

IMG_7415

The cats were to pose with Florence Kosky, a British model and actress from Dorset, who has worked with numerous brands internationally including Burberry, Dolce and Gabbana and Christian Dior.

The photographer Agata Pospieszynska, who was born in Warsaw. She is a highly talent photographer bringing he own unique femine vision of romanticism, who is known for her sense of style when it comes to imagery and storytelling.

An amazing shoot in a fantastic location. Well done to all involved with the spectacular finished results!

Football World Pup for Freshpet

If the summer of 2018 had to be defined by two things, they would be football and glorious sunshine. Even though England didn’t make it to the final, the nation was gripped with World Cup fever and is only just starting to recover from the obsession that swept the country in which national pride hadn’t been at such a peak since London 2012 Olympics.
IMG_4391

PetLondon was tasked with finding two teams of puppies for Freshpet, the healthy dog food company for their Football World Pup campaign. They wanted to live stream the two teams of puppies playing football and maybe find the next Harry Kanine in the process on a mock-up football pitch.

We’ve not sure anyone was keeping score!

The campaign was designed to be broadcast alongside England’s last sixteen game versus Columbia with the intention for the video to calm nerves for those who couldn’t bear to watch the action. And boy did we need some stress relief with the match going through to penalties.

IMG_4394

The classic English bulldog puppies were an obvious choice with adorable Maltese-Bichon puppies their bitter rivals. Not much acting was needed for this particular assignment, just a whole lot of tail wagging and playing. The puppies were spoilt rotten during the breaks with treats and cuddles from the crew.

For your enjoyment there’s a full 90 minute video, so kick back and relax whilst you watch probably the cutest football match on earth.

Marvellous ‘Inspire Me’ Christmas Shoot for M&S

PetLondon was contacted to supply a few different models for a shot for Marks and Spencer.

MarksAndSpencer1884_logo.svg.png

The campaign involved still photography for the ‘Inspire Me’ collection online. In the lead up for Christmas, M&S wanted to highlight pieces from their collection. The set up of each shot with our models involved various different locations, but all included our fluffy four legged friends.

Banner.png

After much consideration, the lucky chosen stars animal stars were decided. There over seven animals chosen this campaign these included to name a few: a brown Bengal kitten, Hercules the puppy Bulldog and brother & sister duo – Atlas (Pyrenese Mountain dog) and Aria (Maine Coon cat).

The ‘Inspire Me‘ page each day features different style and living editorial pieces from cooking tips to style guides. It is a destination for ideas, inspiration and advice for you, your family and your home. We may be biased but we always think the images with our animal models make for the most exciting viewing.

The fido and feline models were scattered across the whole of December’s Inspire Me Calendar. Unsurprisingly all of our models graphics were chosen as the Editor’s picks meaning they were highlighted on the banner at the top of the page.

The first to be released was our little Bengal kitten model playing with some  black heels. This post at the beginning of December, highlighted the comeback of the Kitten Heels as the party shoe of choice for all the Christmas reunions and office parties.

Aria & Atlas had the most fun on this photoshoot getting to chill with their ‘adopted’ family for the celebration of Christmas jumper day which was on the 14th December. Christmas Jumper Day is an international event where friends, family and colleagues dress up in festive jumpers to raise money for charity.

All in all, the shots were amazing and captured the spirit of each animal and environment. The classic British styling and the seasonal undertones of the shoot made this one to remember.

Toby & Ted’s Big Adventure for Boden

As part of PetLondon Models continual work with British Fashion house Boden, we were tasked with supplying two classic breeds that originated from north of the Border. The two breeds selected for this specifically for the rural aesthetic of the shoot. The two breeds chosen are much deliberation were the West Highland Terrier and the Scottish Terrier.

Toby the Scottish Terrier and Ted, the West Highland Terrier were chosen for this hardy outdoors photoshoot. Two terriers teamed up together as part of Boden’s Autumn  & Winter ’17 campaign.

On this morning, however PetLondon Models were to take over. Both had a early breakfast to get to the 9am start time, but both were excited for the opportunity to perform. Once legs had been stretched and sniffed out the situation both models took new surroundings superbly.

  1. Post, Post & Post some More

No one will follow a profile with only eight photos, with a couple of them in low lighting. Save up a collection of pics taken over a couple of months. We use Iphone’s Portrait mode to snap some good quality photos, but maybe invest in a SLR camera if you plan to snap in some challenging environments!

Like anything in life, consistency and persistence is key. Planning some shots and sticking to a schedule, you will quickly reap the rewards. Link your account with Instagram’s analytic programmes to see insights on timings and audiences. Remember where in the world you audience might be and post accordingly.

Mix it up! Instagram not only has the capacity to post single or multiple photos, but also there are videos, looping boomerangs, stories, and live recordings. Differentiating posts and keeping it fresh is bound to excite and attract new followers. Give your captions a tone and a voice, some of the best use very innovative methods of communication mimicking perfectly how they think their pet will sound.

Don’t forget to use hashtags, have a look at what similar profiles are posting. Videos always gain more intentions than photos as well. An insider tip is to use  a mixture of specific and generic hashtags in a process known as laddering.

  1. Become a PR Networking Professional

Akin to your professional and personal life, it’s vital to your pet’s budding social media journey is to get out there and to attract people’s attention… both digitally and in real life.

For example, PetLondon Models visited both Pupaid in Primrose Hill and Chiswick Dog Show, to market our agency and meet potential stars living in the local neighbourhood. We even had one dog, give us a business card with his social media handles!

maxresdefault.jpg

Collaborating with other dog owners with a similar number of followers of your creates an amazing buzz, allowing to post some cool photos and make some friends in the process!

The more you interact online, with all types of people, who knows what successes lie ahead will be in the long run. We have recruited models from Instagram ourselves(@petlondonmodels).

  1. Training and becoming a Instafamous Model

A strong sit and stay command in extremely stimulating and challenging environments. It make this fame-seeking task easier and more efficient  but you’ve got to teach your pet to actually enjoy posing for the camera. Using toys or treats are always good, but with the right training your pet could perform tens of tricks.

These skills are extremely transferable to being a model and part of our agency.

We have worked with the biggest names in the business from Disney to The Sunday Times, from Burberry to Virgin Media. Being part of our agency means exclusive access in being shortlisted or booked for biggest advertising, marketing and PR campaigns with globally renowned brands.

2

In September 2017, Cineworld asked specifically for Instafamous Pugs for a campaign.

What’s better exposure them being on a national TV advert campaign or seeing your super-star in the pages of a national newspaper? We stress again that do not make your pet do anything they don’t want to do. Patience, peristence and positive reinforcement are the cornerstones to success.

Henry’s Silver Screen Performance

PetLondon was tasked with a very special assignment to find a cute and fluffy dog to perform in a celebrity studded role for Michael Giacchino’s 50th birthday concert that took place at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington on Friday, 20th October. Henry the Poochon was chosen, as a cute and cuddly dog for a skit taken place during the evening’s performance.

IMG_4833 (1)

You will have definitely heard of Michael Giacchino’s work, but not in the conventional sense on the radio. You will hear his music filling living rooms and cinemas across the world. He is a world famous and multiple award winning composer of music for TV, film and video games.

IMG_4859

He composed the scores to the television series: Lost, Alias and Fringe, for video games series such as Call of Duty and many films such as: The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible III, Ratatouille, Star Trek, Up, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes & Jurassic World, & Star Wars Rogue One just to name a few.

The multi award-winning composer performed for one night only taking a rare glimpse  at the magic behind the magic with never-before-seen footage from his childhood and early career. During the evening the compositions were placed with film clips.

Henry the Poo-chon, was very excited with the whole event. He got to spend the day in London, sniffing out all the good spots in Kensington. His owner Nicola, was extremely proud and honoured ‘to be part of such a great production with such talented people… at arguably the most stunning and prestigious theatre in the world’.

IMG_4849 (1)

He was joined by this friends and colleagues, such as J.J. Abrams, Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Gareth Edwards, Andrew Stanton & Colin Trevorrow with Ludwig Wicki of the Cinematic Sinfonia sharing the conducting and the English Chamber Choir perform the eclectic program.

Henry had his own dressing room and enjoyed playing fetch in the dressing room until rehearsal time. Henry was treated just like all of the other stars that have walked the boards of the historic venue. How many people, yet alone a puppy can say that they’ve had that!

As part of a short comedy sketch in the show, Gonzo (from the Muppet’s fame), J.J. Abrams & Pete Docter conducted a short skit with Henry. Pete was pulling on a rope that was supposed to be attached to a big heavy cow behind the curtain. He then climbed the down the stairs at the side of the stage to get the animal to ‘Moo-ve’ and out came Henry instead. The crowd went wild for Henry with ‘ooohs’ and ‘awww’ from the audience.

IMG_4828 (1)

Henry was adored by all, with everyone commenting on how well he behaved. Nicola said ‘It was an amazing experience from start to finish. I’m a very proud dog mum! Pawliwood here we come.’
